SFTP error and eventual failure

I'm getting the below error when running an SFTP job. Anyone else seen this? I have this in tagent.ini:

[config]
agents=ntfe003

[ntfe003]
port=5912
SSLVLDCRT=N

Output Error:

No Feedback from FTP Process : set to Errored�

Strangely after restarting the agent, it works now but still like to understand how this state came about.

I know this is an old follow up, but for me it was permissions/ownership on a Linux agent. 

I had changed owner and group, as well as modified the permissions on /Agent, so it needed a restart.
