a. 802.1x machine auth
b. 802.1x user auth
c. 802.1x cert-based auth

A. Machine authentication is the credentials that are for the workstation that is joined to a domain, this can be username and password based or cert based.
B. User Auth is your typical credentials used in the authentication profile, you can either set the windows login credentials or you can provide additional credentials.
C. Cert-based auth is eap-tls.
