ACS Synchronize

Dear Expert,

Let me to introduce my self, I’m johannes that working in SI.

Right now we have existing ACS type 1121 with software version 5.2.

I want to adding one new ACS in my network and my plan is both of ACS can syncronize each others.

So we purpose 2 scenarios for Synchronize ACS. They are :

1. Buy the new ACS and Synchronize with the exisiting.

2. Buy only UCS Server and install ACS software on these server.

My question are :

1. What the condition for synchronize between ACS ? is that only software ACS version ?

2. Can we install ACS software in UCS Server ?

if yes, what is spec for the server ? can you breakdown step by step for installing in UCS server ?

Hi Johannes,

You can install the ACS on VM or Cisco SNS-34XX series but not 5.2. You will need to upgrade to 5.4. Please have a look below at the installation guide:

Also, HW versions don't need to be same. The software versions including patch should be same for replication.

Thank for your replying.

Right now the newer ACS software is 5.6 version.

so I understand that firstly we must upgrade from 5.2 to 5.4 and then 5.6.

But i saw the 5.4 is AEOS at march, 31 2015.

if we buy the ACS 5.4 in april, what we should do ?

or We just need buy ACS 5.6 P/N CSACS-5.6SW-MR-K9= and then ACS will automatically jump to 5.6 without installing 5.4 version.

If you have already CSACS-5.4-SW-K9 then you can go with CSACS-5.6SW-MR-K9 upgrade if you don't have SAS, if you have SAS support then go with CSACS-5.6SW-SR-K9=.
