Can I set up logging to a radius or syslog server without enabling aaa authentication?

I want to set up logging on my routers to go to a syslog or radius server. However, when I do the aaa new-model command, it immediately enables remote authentication. Is there a way to just enable logging and continue to use the local authentication for the routers?

For logging, you should use the

"logging" global command and not the

AAA commands.

Logging to a RADIUS server only makes

sense if the server HW is also running

a syslog server (RADIUS doesn't log).
