Cisco NAC Agent Customization File Settings

Hi

I need help on this. I found the steps on the Cisco website to customize the Cisco NAC agent's look and feel in Windows O/S. My problem here is once I've made the necessary changes to the nac_login.xml and nac_logo.gif under the C:\Program Files\Cisco... in my WIndows XP workstation, how do I execute the command tar cvzf branding.tar.gz nac_login.xml nac_logo.gif

The steps to perform this on the Cisco website

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/48/cam/m_agntd.html#wp1606140

The Cisco document doesn't state this? :-(

There was a similar Cisco Support Forum topic on this, but it didn't state anything about this as well. Please kindly advice.

You can place the customized files back into the directory of the CAM on where you got them from by using ftp or scp. I would suggest tweaking the names so you keep the old names. Once you do that then run the tar command using the format of the filename to tar them to, followed by the order of your customized files.

Hope this helps.

Hi Tarik

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I solved this problem. What I did was, I used 7-Zip software (Freeware) to convert my edited files i.e. nac_login.xml | nac_logo.gif | nacStrings_en.xml to .TAR and then to .GZ.

Once all these was completed, I uploaded the .TAR.GZ file to the NAC Manager, and everything is working fine now.

Just one last question, can I change the backgound theme. I Know you can change the background dimension, colour etc. but I have a background theme which I created on my own using Adobe Photoshop, and I want that to be the background, can this be achieved?

Ram
