Solved: external authentication server configuration

What is the difference using option 'a' (compared to option 'b') when configuring an external authentication server?

a. Configuration | System | Servers | Authentication

b. Configuration | User Management | Groups | Authentication Servers

Is it correct to assume that option 'b' allows for configuration of external servers for specific groups? Why would I use option 'a'? Thanks in advance.

Correct, option b allows you to define an auth server for a specific group, whereas option a defines an auth server for all groups. If option b is set then this server is used for the authentication for that group only and overrides anything set under option a. If it's not set, then option a is used.
