I have a fresh new install of ACS 4.1 on a brand new server. Services are started and I hit the link to connect to the web front end and am prompted for a username and password. Nowhere in the installation was I prompted for this information. I have looked through the installation and configuration pdf files and there is nothing to indicate what the default login and password is. Anyone know? Thanks.

Hi,
Log in locally into the server where you have installed ACS i.e. via console or RDP.
And then try to open as,
then go to "Administration Section" and create an admin user for yourself, and then try to open ACS GUI remotely.

Prem

In case its windows 2003 server, after you have logged in locally. trust http://127.0.0.1 as trusted site, else it wont open.

It is windows 2003 server and I figured that one out on my own, LOL. I also had to install java on the server in order to get the pages to display properly. Thanks for all your help!!!!

It seems that you are trying to access it from network. You need to access it locally from that machine.
Once you set admin user, it will let you in from network.

If you have to access the ACS across a firewall,
it is better so configure the ACS to a range
of ports. I usually specify the ACS port
between 2002 and 2010. You configure this
in ACS admin control or access or something
like that. Otherwise, you may have issue
accessing http://x.x.x.x:2002 when traversing
the firewall. the initial port is 2002 but
if you notice when you're connected, the port
will change. That's why it is best to lock
it down to a port range so that it can
traverse the firewall more easily.
