Hello, customer asked for upgrade from ISE 2.4 to 2.7 but afraid of EoS for 2.7 soon. Do we have known date when 2.7 will be announced EoS please?

The end of life notice for ISE 2.6 was only posted in June 2021:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/identity-services-engine/bulletin-c25-2503911.html

We would expect it to be some time later for 2.7 to be similarly end of life. Cisco doesn't pre-announce things like that, but one could expect it to be supported until October 2023. (based on the expiration date of Base licenses when converted to Smart).

Is there a reason why the customer doesn't want to upgrade to the recommended release (3.0 Patch 2 currently)?

Thanks Marce, as I found release date NOV 18th, 2019 for 2.7, means that EoL have to be announced 18 month later - means EoL May 18th, 2021 ???

Latest EOL announcements are only seen for 2.4 not (yet) for later versions.

Yes, customer prefer permanent base licensing then subscription due to the price ...but I know, that during few years all our offer will be subscription based.

you can obtain a permanent licensing from Cisco as well, just claim that the ISE is on an "air-gap" network.

I was in the same boat as you two months ago.  Seem to me that 2.7 is a very solid version and 3.0 is really a bump, with so many bugs.  However, I bit the bullet and decided to go from version 2.2 to 3.0 patch-3.

If you're going to 2.7 now, you will have to upgrade again in less than two years because you will get the typical Cisco's response when you run into issues:  upgrade.
