ISE Flexconnect Dynamic Vlan Assignment by Name

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if you are able to dynamically assign a vlan to a flexconnect AP by vlan name and not by number when using ISE?  I have set it up in ISE and it works to assign the vlan by number but not by name.  I have set the name on the vlan by typing the name command.

Hi Dan,

This can be done starting from AireOS version 8.1. This feature is called "Flexconnect VLAN Name Override".

Have a look at this deployment guide. Section named "VLAN Name Override for FlexConnect" outlines the configuration steps required.

It is quite easy, basically you need to create a Flexconnect VLAN template which contains the VLAN number to name mappings, assign the template to your Flexconnect group and then push "Tunnel-Private-Group-ID" custom RADIUS attribute from your authorization profile in ISE.
