ISE upgrade process CLI

I am struggling to get the upgrade bundle to the ISE server. Keep getting a SSH connect error. 

setup repositiory and set url to sftp server and defined user and password.

suggestions? I assume 6gb is too big for tftp

I have used Filezilla ftp server running on Windows Server 2012, workstation 7 and 10 desktops as the source of an ftp repository for ISE and had it work fine.

I can't say I've tried sftp.
