ISE2.4 : backup : failure using GUI and CLI stuck at 45%

Hi all,

i have a problem on a BK ISE. BK stuck at 45% via CLI and GUI:

 

XXX/admin# backup  ISE-CONFIG repository XXXX ise-config encryption-key plain XXXXXXXX

% Internal CA Store is not included in this backup. It is recommended to export it using "application configure ise" CLI command

% Creating backup with timestamped filename: ...........................................

% backup in progress: Starting Backup...10% completed

% backup in progress: Validating ISE Node Role...15% completed

% backup in progress: Backing up ISE Configuration Data...20% completed

% backup in progress: Backing up ISE Indexing Engine Data...45% completed

can't I check the reason from the logs?

Did anyone find a resolution to this other that call TAC? Seems to be a common issue if you search other message boards. Same with the disk full issues with ISE but never a "real" resolution is offered.

You can try to cancel the backup via the CLI prior to calling TAC. On the primary admin node enter the following;
application configure ise
use option "[24]Force Backup Cancellation"

Disk full issues are certainly a TAC case, you still since you need root access to fix it.
