System and Interface SNMP Query Probes in ISE 1.4

Hello,

I was going through an old documentation which states that there are two types of SNMP Query Probes

1. System Query :- Polling distributed amongst all PSNs

2. Interface Query :- Triggered by Radius Accounting Start

Based on this I have the below doubts

Q1. Is this valid for ISE 1.4 ?

Q2. Does this mean that in a distributed deployment all PSNs will send SNMP system query to all NADs regardless of whether the PSN is in not configured under radius servers in the NAD ?

Q3.  How does Node Group play a role in this mechanism ?

A1. Yes

A2. Nope. Each NAD has an option [SNMP Setting] -> [Originating Policy Services Node]

Network Devices Import Template Format shows

SNMP:Originating Policy Services Node:String(32)

This is an optional field. Indicates which ISE server to be used to poll for SNMP data. By default, it is automatic, but you can overwrite the setting by assigning different values.

A3. Node groups help limiting replications for endpoint attributes. nothing specific for SNMP.
