Websense Manual User Authentication

Greetings,

We are using Websense Enterprise 4.3 on an NT 4.0/SP6 server, in conjunction with a PIX 515 using software release 6.0(1). I am unable to get "manual authentication" to work. Though the user is prompted for login/password, and enters valid account info, it is not accepted. After 3 attempts, "HTTP ERROR 401 Authentication Required" pops up. Websense has not been able to help me solve this. Anybody else using this feature? Any ideas? I'm fresh out!

The syntax of the login is "domain/user" and the password is the domain password.

Make sure you have the "agent" installed on all the Domain-Controllers(pdc/bdcs) as service.

On the Websense-manager's "configuration" manu, verify you hightlight all the domain/users under "user authentication".

After that, if you do not see username under the domain, call Websense.
