Best way to monitor virtual-access flaps ?

Hi,

I'm seeing regular virtual-access interface flaps. Is there a good way to keep a count of these? I could monitor the syslog and increment a counter however there must be a more elegant way to do this. I can't find an OID or show commands which gives me what I'm looking for. Any ideas?

I think your initial idea is a good one.  If you have a syslog that you can track, count the number of flap conditions you see.  This is actually fairly elegant as you can then use that counter in other EEM policies to take additional action.

Would this still work if the logging buffer level is set to notifications and these messages are logged at a lower level i.e. informational?

Yes.  EEM doesn't care about a specific logging destination.
