Hi Guys,
I am trying to send test email from Cisco PI 2.2 and I got this message:
Failed to send mail using primary SMTP server:
Could not connect to SMTP host: smtpout.europe.secureserver.net, port: 465, response: -1
I tried yahoo and gmail is the same error? what could be the issue for that?
Thanks for all

Hi,
Unfortunately, PI 2.2 doesn't yet support SNMP over TLS/SSL
Reference:
CSCun67003 - PI Email functionality should support either SMTPS and/or MSA encryption

- Make sure you don't have an (internal) firewall somewhere, blocking these connections

I tried with SMTP 25 port is OK but Secure port not working! why? I used wireshark to track the packets! when I use port 25 I saw the packets goes out from PI but when I use 465 no packets from SMTP goes out from PI!! why?
Thanks

- I don't know wether Prime support's SMTP over SSL (port 465) ; but anyway normally it would be advisable to use an intrAnet SMTP server for prime. People will usually have e-mail services on the Intranet ; you will need an smtp server on the intranet, which handles outgoing e-mail too. Better to configure prime to use the intranet's smtp server (or servers) . In more official security terms : a Prime server having to trust a random SMTP gateway poses security risks. For instance, the remote gateway can be infected ,hence the smtp-communication-channel could be used to back-fire viruses on your Prime server.
