The remembering of passwords from the client interface is a function of the local browser (even if logging on from the server).
In Firefox, it's a check box "Remember Passwords" under Tools, Options, Privacy.
In Internet Explorer, it's under Tools, Internet options, Content tab, Autocomplete button - push button to clear passwords and then uncheck "Use Autocomplete for User names and passwords on forms". (The latter setting can be pushed out to users in an enterprise environemnt using a GPO within AD or the IE Admin Kit.)
