Exporting CiscoWOrks Topology View into Visio 2003

Hello All,

Does anyone know of a way to get a CiscoWorks Campus Manager Topology View into Visio 2003? From what I see I can only export into a few different file formats and none of them are recognizable by Visio 2003. Please note Visio 2003 dropped the ability to import text files (Thanks a million Micro$oft).

Thanks in advance and all replies will be rated.

The export format that used to work was comma separated variable (*.csv). MS removed that feature (import csv file) from Visio, Not sure if it was as of Visio 2003 or Visio 2002. I do know that Visio 2000 works. If you can find a back-level Visio installation, you can import there and bring it forward as a .vsd file. I believe the end user license agreement for Visio allows one to use a back level version if a newer one is licensed.

Thanks for the info Marvin.

This is an old question but I am adding an answer just in case anyone else finds this when searching for this problem.

With the Ciscoworks LMS this iwll work if you export to XML instead of CSV and save it as a .vxd

Saving or renaming it to vxd is important it wont work unless you do.

I have tested this with Visio 2003 and 2007.
