how to - set the sysloaction with cw2k, input:file

Hi,

Situation: LMS 2.2 IDU 10 Windows user.

We would like to set the SysLoaction on every switch from a input file (generated by export from db).

Netconfig is nice for bulk upgrade but not when the information is specific for every switch.

What can we do? Is there a script for this? Is it bettter to use an other tool (like hp ov NNM)?

As far as I know, you wont get a ready made scripts for this which you can change for specific parameteres, you may need to write your own script for this.

I'm not sure if it's part of the Windows version (we have Solaris) but the cwconfig command-line can give you this functionality.

Everything I know about it I learnt from doing cwconfig -help. It does work, but it is slow.

I also have a perl script that uses snmp and tftp to upload configs to devices which is much quicker. Email me directly if you would like a copy.
