I am looking for a convenient and free MIB browser
that - for example - displays tables as tables - not lists.
What are you using as mib browser,
and do you like it?

I think your search will end with a new product called Unbrowse SNMP. Tables are displayed in a spreadsheet-like view. The MIB browser is FREE for both commercial and personal use. You even get SNMPv3 for free.
See here http://www.unleashnetworks.com/unbrowse-snmp-product-page/unbrowse-home.html
This product includes some cool tools called "Power Features" such as the ability to create subtrees, import from snmpwalk dumps, etc. These features work for 30 days - you can let them expire harmlessly if you dont need them.
Good luck
