LMS 4.0 Devices unresponsive

Hi All,

We are running LMS 4.0 in our setup. the devices in DFM are automatically unmanaged when looked into devices properties all the devices

were unmanaged in the backend(looks fine from the GUI) . this problem has been occuring every 2-3 months interval. And we need to manage these devices from the backend to

make these managed and operationally(CLI).

want to know any bug associated with LMS 4.0 regarding DFM and any suggestion for the permanent fix.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in the advance.

Regards,

Channa

I don't see any bug specifically matching your description; but if you are really running LMS 4.0 you should by all means upgrade to the current 4.2.3. Depending on your actual running version, this may be a couple of steps but is pretty easy to do even given that.

4.0 was the first issue of a major release and there have been numerous bug fixes in the subsequent releases (4.0.1, 4.1, 4.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, and 4.2.3) the Release Notes (see this page) show all of the resolved and open bugs.

Thank you marvin for your reply.

We will plan for an upgrade.

Hi Marvin,

What causes devices in the DFM to go unresponsive ??

Any suggestions on the same to avoid it in the future.

Regards,

Channa

If it happens persistently after your upgrade, it could be an SNMP timeout issue.
