API firmware value vs dashboard

Hello,

I'm looking into getting device information via dashboard api. I noticed that the Firmware information the API returns is different than what is down in the dashboard for multiple devices.

I get the value: "Not running configured version"

While on the dashboard I get: "Up to date, Current version: MR 26.9"

Can anyone explain why this is returned. and how this can be resolved?

Some older MRs can not run current firmware versions. If you select a newer firmware than it can run it uses the last version that it supports.

I'm guessing this is the case here.
