4255 platform running 4.1.5

I am running 4255 platform with version 4.1.5. This has proven to be a real nightmare to update signatures. Before we do any updates we have to be careful and remove the previous updates so that it does not fill up the slice and dies. Even by doing this at times the sensor still craps out....Can someone tell me if 4255 is not made to run version 4 or are the same problems being experienced with version 5. Is there a fix for this ????

Please enter a Cisco TAC case if you have not already, so Cisco can track this issue and provide a fix.

This problem goes away in 5.0. This is because the OS footprint is much much smaller in 5.0 freeing up adequate space for signature config growth from sigupdates.
