Adding failover FTD to an existing production FTD (via FMC)?

Hello All,

We have configured a while ago an FTD 2140 via FMC and it has been running with no issues whatsoever. Now we have acquired a second FTD 2140, imported it to our FMC and we want to add as a failover to the existing one.

Will that disrupt the existing configuration of the running/production FTD and will it cause any issues, or is it as simple as configuring the failover pair with the existing one being the primary?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi,

It will cause a small interrupt for the active connections while its
forming the failover (e.g active anyconnects will be disconnected). No
reboot required. Then the config will auto replicated.

Thanks Mohammed,

I can live with that! I will just do it over a maintenance window, so I can avoid the angry mob of users!
