Hello,
So, I have two asa 5505 routers. Lets say "router A" has 50 user licenses and "router B" has 10. What it comes down to: I have to switch the two routers around. Router A is going to the office where router B is and visa versa.
I am wondering how licensing works, is it ingrained into the device?
If I copy the running config of Router A to Router B, will Router B (the same physical box as before, just with router A's config) still have 10 licenses? And if I copy the running config of router B to router A, Router A should still have 50 licenses, right?
Thank you!

Hi John,
Licenses are always Serial Number specific so even if you swap teh configs,. the 10 user woudl remian a 10 user license, irrespective of the configuration on it. So yes, even if you swap teh config, 50 user would remain 50 user and 10 user would remain 10 user.
Hope that helps
Thanks,
Varun
