This just started happening in the last week or so. Our Cisco ASA 5516X just crashes and restarts. Thought that is might be bad hardware, so we connected our (identical) space and the same thing is happening. No rhyme or reason except that it seems to happen three or four times over an hour period, then quiets down.
We are on version 9.12(4) software.

Greetings,
Not sure if you saw this link yet: https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-security/asa-5516-x-firepower-version-upgradation-from-9-8-4-29-to-9-12-4/td-p/5083612/page/
Seems similar. Have you had a chance to review any logs or system utilization? Curious if this isn’t event driven or a possible race condition/memory leak.

Stephan,
Thanks for this. Cisco support did their research on this and said that it is a bug and gave us a link to an upgrade. We are working on that now and I can update this post when we are done. Curious to see if this resolves the issue. We were on our current version for over a year so curious how this 'bug' just appeared.

Probably it's a config change you applied that has triggered the bug.

I wish it was, that would be easy to ID and backout/resolve. We haven't touched anything on the Firewall or anything upstream or downstream of them in over a year. That is why it baffles us.
