Hi
Never come across anything like this before, but I had to do an emergency upgrade to a 5520 today and I took it up to 9.1(7). The device booted but would not respond on its inside interface. Sh int said the interface was up, but there was nothing in the arp cache for that interface. External was working and I could see my Internet gateway at layer 2 and 3. I reverted back to an older release as soon as I could as I had limited time to troubleshoot. Has anyone come across this problem and what was the cause. We need to start upgrading the rest of our ASA estate and I won't be using this release ...
thanks

I have never heard or seen of it, I hope you opened a tac case. Do you remember if the inside interface had a name (nameif inside), ip address and correct security level, all 3 of them? I know that during a limited troubleshooting time period we sometimes we overlook these things.

Hi
Yes, it was a working interface before the 9.1(7) code went on, and worked again when I rolled back to 9.1(4), with all the correct attributes configured. I'll raise a TAC case.
