Dear All,

I've ASA5520 with CSC bundle, it's working fine. but i've some doubt on below output

#SHOW INTERFACE IP BRIEF

Internal-Control0/0        127.0.1.1       YES unset  up                    up
Internal-Data0/0           unassigned      YES unset  up                    up

What is the meaning of "INTERNAL-CONTROL & INTERNAL-DATA" INTERFACES.

WHY THERE IS NO IP OR 127.0.1.1 ONLY.....

WAITING FOR QUICK RESPONSE.....

Hi,

Those two interfaces are the internal interfaces connecting to the SSMs.Internal-Control0/0 is the interface which is used to communicate with the SSM. You can session into the SSM from the ASA through this interface. The IP address assigned to it is not user-configurable.

Packets which are to be inspected by the SSM flows through Internal-Data0/0, which is the internal data channel. No IP address can be assigned to it.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Anu.
