Hi,
If we have a lone ASA5545-X do we need a PRSM server to manage this or is this solely for managing multiple devices?
Thanks in advance

PRSM runs either "on-box" or "off-box".
While you can use off-box PRSM to manage a single ASA's CX, you can do all the management of a single device using on-box PRSM just as well as you can with off-box.
The only limitation that comes to mind is if you want to keep all your logs for a very long time (sometimes required for legal or regulatory reasons). Eventually they will fill up on-box PRSM (which saves them on the ASA's SSD) and be aged out. That time is much longer with off-box PRSM as you can allocate more storage for those logs.
