Device Model: Cisco ASA 5585-ssp-20
Software Version: 9.12(4)55
ROMMON Version: 2.0(13)

We have encountered a problem on Cisco ASA. After power off or reboot the device does not boot from disk0, goes to ROMMON and cannot find the software image. At the same time, if you boot manually through ROMMON, the booting is successful.

Problem with cisco ASA :
- ASA does not start when power goes out and then comes back on again

When we download software from rommon with TFTP it is downloaded, restarted and started.
After rebooting from the command line it may or may not start.
Then again from rommon we download firmware from TFTP and start.

There is software in flash and it should be booted from this firmware, but it does not happen.

  - Review this thread : https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-security/change-default-boot-file-on-asa/td-p/3088752
it discusses how to set the correct boot file (image) on ASA.

You may also connect to the ASA with https://cway.cisco.com/cli/   (needs to be downloaded first)
At the top right or left you have a button called 'System Diagnostics' ; it can be useful sometimes
