ASA Eigrp relationship not coming up.

Level 6

I have two ASA's in active/standby

When the secondary is up the eigrp relationship comes up no problem. However when there is a failover event I loose the EIGRP relationship.

Both devices have the same config and both are plugged directly into my core.

Anyone know what might be happening here?

Thanks,

PS: I know this is vague but I'm hopeing this is simple.

Hi,

I think the reason is that the ASA with failover does not replicate the table to routing adjacencies for dynamic routing.

Check the following link showing details about Stateful Failover:

  • The HTTP connection table (unless HTTP replication is enabled)

  • The user authentication (uauth) table

  • The routing tables

  • State information for security service modules
