Hi community,
Last day we tried to upgrade a pair of Firepower 2130 with ASA code : 9.14(2)15 to 9.18.3 Appliance are in HA Active / Standby mode
When we tried to upgrade the standby node, we get some logs like "No space left on device" as in this post https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-security/firepower-1010-asa-write-error-no-space-left-on-device/td-p/4294263
Following the Perform a complete Reimage we were able to recover the appliance with the target 9.18.3 image from an USB stick. We imported the confiuguration.
Now we have the active node running 9.14(2)15 and the other node with 9.18.3 not connected yet to the network.
Since we have a very critical business we would like to minimize the downtime to finish the upgrade.
What can be our plan (since we think the active mode will go into the same issue when upgrading)?
We think of:
- plug in the standby node with the sync interface only, see if the can see each other.
- connecting the traffic interface on the standby node
- Then upgrading the 9.14(2)15 (maybe reimage).
- The standby should take the active state during this time
- when the former active will be back, it should be primary/standby
- perfoming another failover to be back with primary/active
- relicense the appliance
Any suggestion? What can be our option?
Thank you for your help
