ASA Firewalls with IPS

I need to procure Adaptaive Security Appliance -> Cisco ASA 5512-X Adaptive Security Appliance with IPS services.

As per the following link

So can I procure normal IPS with this model? I do not want to procure firepower services because firepower need another appliance to manage the IPS called FireSight.

I cannot afford to procure Firesight just to manage the single firewall with IPS. Please  advise.

FireSight is not required. You can manage the sensor 'on-box'. I believe IPS in the ASA has been fully replaced by firepower so that's your only option on the ASA for now.

Managing sensor on box? You mean through CLI? There is no IDM for Firepower IPS.

You can manage the ASA FirePOWER module using ASDM as of ASA 9.5(1.5) and ASDM 7.6(1) with FirePOWER software 6.0.1 or higher.

It will only do a single unit at a time but it does work OK for smaller installations.

The 2-device FirePOWER Manager is a much better solution and is not very expensive.
