ASA requests username when typing enable command

Hi all

We have a cluster ASA Active/Passive with 8.3 version and only an username configured (root):

username root password mV1/6OvaVKyBDO6f encrypted privilege 15
username root attributes
service-type admin

When the customer issues the 'enable' command ASA requests username and password and he cannot to type the enable password configured on appliance.

How could I change the behaviour of the ASA in order to requests the enable password when the customer issues 'enable'?.

Thanks so much

You will have to disable "aaa authentication enable console" command if you have one configured.

With the "aaa authentication enable console" command, it will prompt you for the local username and password configured, and if you disable "aaa authentication enable console", it will only prompt you for the enable password.

Hope that helps.
