ASA Upgrade

i am using Cisco ASA 5510  with ASA Version 8.0(4) and memory 256MB.

Please guide me to Upgrade it to 8.3

i have a query  will the upgrade stright from IOS 8.0 (4)  to IOS  8.3

or

it is first upgrade IOS 8.1 Then 8.3

Hi,

You will need to upgrade the memory first, here are the details about memory:

The part number for the required memory is ASA5510-MEM-1GB=

After that you should be able to load 8.3 on your system.

Hi Saroj,

Use for example TFTP-32, its free to download, put the new IOS in the correct directory path in your PC.

configure the following on your ASA:

tftp-server inside (Your Machine IP address) and (the directory of the bin File)

and then , perform the fololowing:

copy tftp flash, and follow . it will ask you to install the new IOS.

after you successfuly install the new IOS, check it with the (dir) command.

Note:

A memory upgrade is required for version 8.3

8.0------------>

8.2------------->

8.3

That is the right procedure.

Please make sure your memeory requirements are correct.
