is it possible to have dmz vlans running off a switch 

and the same vlans be configured on asa ?

For sure, configure your ASA physical interface as a trunk that allows the plans that you want to use in your DMZs. On the Switch, the interface to to the ASA is also a trunk and the Ports to the servers are access-ports in the needed VLANs.
