ASA vs PIX software feature comparison

Hi to all, i'm looking for a document about software feature comparison between pix and asa not related to any hardware module.I know asa can do IPS and anti-x with the appropriate module, but what i'm looking is the software differences between asa and pix platform .For example, i know asa is webvpn capable, and pix not.Is this the only differences ?

Many thanks to all

Max

Hi Max,

ASA seems to be more application oriented than PIX.

As well, you are right, SSL is the big difference.

Note that for ASA to support SSL users you need a special licence for that.

Check:

Please rate if this helped.

Regards,

Daniel

I found a link with a feature license explanation for all license for asa and pix, and with all the information everyone is able to make a comparison. The differences between pix and asa on software are Webvpn and vpn load balancing (support for asa 5520 and greater).

You can find all the information at this link:
