Hi to all, i'm looking for a document about software feature comparison between pix and asa not related to any hardware module.I know asa can do IPS and anti-x with the appropriate module, but what i'm looking is the software differences between asa and pix platform .For example, i know asa is webvpn capable, and pix not.Is this the only differences ?

Hi Max,
ASA seems to be more application oriented than PIX.
As well, you are right, SSL is the big difference.
Note that for ASA to support SSL users you need a special licence for that.

I found a link with a feature license explanation for all license for asa and pix, and with all the information everyone is able to make a comparison. The differences between pix and asa on software are Webvpn and vpn load balancing (support for asa 5520 and greater).
