hi,

our company is looking at installing SOHO FW and i know cisco has 5506-X now.

i saw there's 3 of them and would like to know their difference: 5506-X, 5506W-X and 5506H-X.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/asa-5500-series-next-generation-firewalls/models-comparison.html

also, we're only after S2S IPsec VPNs on the SOHO/branch sites back to our HQ.

is there an option to exclude FirePower or is this bundled by default?

is the default OS/license can support IPsec VPNs and how many? i saw there's IKEv1 10/50. is 10 default and 50 max licensed? is IKEv2 supported?

5506W has a built in access point.

I think the 5506H is in a hardened case, normally used in industrial environments.  A normal business operating from an office should not use this one.

While it mentions Firepower, you have to buy licences for this separately to get it going.  So it is more that is the the "capability" to have Firepower.

The unit can do 10 site to site VPNs by default.  You can then buy a security plus licence to lift this limit to 50.  You can also buy the 5506 up front withthe security plus licence bundled in.
