We have an ASA5525 with Firepower. We've installed URL Filtering and Malware licenses which show valid in Classic Licenses, but are both showing (0) used. When we try to configure policies, both show unlicensed. How to I apply/enable those licenses?

Look under device management. Edit the device and check the License section of the Device summary page.
It should look something like this:

You need to have and apply the no cost Control license as a prerequisite for any of the other paid types (IPS, URL Filtering and Malware).
If you have the control license already, then just add it along with the other ones you mentioned to the device via the device management page in FMC.

I am having some trouble determining if the control license has been applied, and I can't seem to find information from online searches that will give me the steps. I am pretty sure I'm not phrasing my search properly though.
How would I figure out if it's been applied?

Hi Marvin.
This is *exactly* what I was looking for. Yes, control was installed and checked, but Malware/Url Filtering was not. I checked them both and now the unlicensed error went away.
Thank you very much!
