ASA5555-x IPS question

We recently moved to a single ASA5555-x firewall that has the IPS software module in it.

However it is currently inactive.

I would now liek to enable it and spend the next month or so in promiscous mode.

IPS image 7.1.4 is on the firewall but i have yet to go thru the enable process.

Am I okay to do this during the day ? Is there any risk of a break in service while I am enabling the IPS module ?

This is our production firewall and I would like to keep downtime to a minimum.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello  Dave,

As long as you set it up properly you should not encounter any problems, it's going to be on promiscous mode so it will not affect the network directly,
