ASDM access

Do I have to access ASDM via ASA management port?

Or can I access it via other layer 3 ip address as long as there is connection?

You can use any port. You need to have the "http x.x.x.x y.y.y.y <interface-name>" and http server enabled. [x.x.x.x y.y.y.y is the source from which you will initiate the connection]
