ASDM Syslog Stuttering..

Hi all, bit of a bizarre one, we have an ASA 5555-X running 9.12, it's been up 173 days.  Doing some troubleshooting via the ASDM and the logs we are getting aren't complete, ie we don't see everything or we intermittently see logs.  And if you take the filter off normally the screen scrolls by so fast you can't see anything, but here we get a little squirt of like 20 or so lines, then stop start in that fashion stuttering along. 

 

logging is set to debugging currently both in config for the ASDM and when we open the monitor on the ASDM

 

This is a busy-ish firewall 400mb average so something is wrong either in a setting - but they all look ok, or the device?  Any idea's?
