Hello everyone,
So I have a Cisco Firepower 2110 firewall with ASA version 9.8.2 and I'm using ASDM 7.8(2) to configure it. I have a strange dilemma that when I try to configure my interfaces is does not let me alter the ports media type from rj45 to SFP. Is there a workaround or is this a common bug for the software version? I look everywhere, thanks.

Note earlier in the guide that you linked it essentially says the same thing I mentioned earlier:
"For the ASA on the Firepower 2100 and Firepower 4100/9300 chassis, you configure basic interface settings in the FXOS operating system. See the configuration or getting started guide for your chassis for more information."

When running an ASA image on a Firepower 2100 series, some things - such as interface types allocated - are managed via the Firepower Chassis Manager GUI.
A given interface though is either RJ-45 or SFP. Even if you insert a GLC-T transceiver it would still be considered an SFP interface.

So what you are saying is that even though it gives you the option to changed it from RJ45 to SFP on the interface in ASDM, it will still be recognized as an SFP port regardless?

Let me rephrase the port I am trying to configure is an SFP port within the ASA CLI when I try to configure the interface, it does not give me the option to chose media-type so that it supports SFP. This is also the case within the ASDM console in the interface when you right-click it gives you the option to modify the media and the drop-down menu for that only shows rj45 and not SFP. I studied the release notes up to 7.8(2) and it doesn't cover this issue I am having with the configuration. If you look at Step 5: I can't choose SFP. So I'm stuck any advice would be helpful thanks.

Step 5 | (Optional) To set the media type, duplex, speed, and enable pause frames for flow control, click Configure Hardware Properties.
