Is there a method to block spyware as well as the abovementioned link using the Pix Firewall v 6.2. Also, what is the preferred MS Window's tool/utility to monitor packets traversing the PIX and to view hacking attempts.
Thanks

Most applications can be blocked using the port numbers used by them. The exact port numbers can be easily found using for example, Google.com. However, there are instance where this might not work. For Napster-like sites, you will need to block the site itself using access-lists denying the site's IP.

Thanks for responding to my message, but currently access-lists are being used to block specific ports. What tool or method would be recommended to filter adware and spyware that traverse port 80.
Is there an efficient utility that would capture and display syslog messages submitted via the PIX? The 3com syslog and the Kiwi applications have not worked for me.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks
