cant get to IPS via ASDM

I am trying to configure the IPS from within the ASDM but can't get to it. I've given the IPS module an IP address on the management IP range and one on the inside network range, but still can't get logged in through the ASDM. Any suggestions on what I am missin? The IPS version is

Cisco Intrusion Prevention System, Version 6.0(4)E1

Do you have an access list in the sensor to allow access? Something like this below would allow any.

service-host

network-settings

access-list 0.0.0.0/0

or from a specific host...

service-host

network-settings

access-list /32
