Dear all,
Does traffic engineering in cell mode mpls (BPX-
LSC network) work.If not why?Is it a problem with
RSVP on atm vc's.Will it be supported in the future?
Thank you in advance

Its too complex to determine without looking at your exact situation. Start here:http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/120newft/120limit/120st/120st14/scalable.htm

Dear Kostas,
unfortunately TE in cell mode mpls will never be able to operate like in frame mode. The reason is, that in frame mode you can have a stack of forwarding labels, one being the label for the TE tunnel, the second being the "normal" forwarding label. Obviously there is no address space for two labels in an ATM cell. So there is only one forwarding label and that means no traffic engineering in cell mode. The only possibility I know about would be to fully mesh the LERs with PVPs and then run MPLS through the PVPs like in a non-MPLS core. However this is not scaling well and creates more problems than it helps.
Hope this helps
