Hello,
I need to perform an FXOS upgrade on our FPR4120 nodes which are configured as a cluster. (as preparation to upgrade FTD)
According to the documentation: I have to start with the slave node then switch master/slave roles and then upgrading the other node when it has become slave.
But how can I switch the master/slave role? I cannot find the option in the FMC nor in FXOS chassis manager. I have a few Firepowers in HA setup as well which can switchover via FMC but this option is not there when it's a cluster.
In the the documentation there is a note that switching roles is possible but how to do this is nowhere to be found.
Does someone know how to do this?
Best regards
P

With the help of TAC I figured out how to do it.
First of all : slave nodes needs to be upgaded first, then the master node and the Other one becomes master automatically
Furthermore, there is a command to switch master/slave roles in case you have more slaves and needs to select one as the master
For this you need to connect to the FTD CLI. (in my case ssh to its module address first, then connect ftd)
the command : “cluster master unit <ID>” sets the node to master.
