Cisco 4210 IPS /IDS Rebuild

Hi all.

Does anyone have any experience with rebuilding a 4210?

I am currently downloading IPS-K9-6.0-6-E3.pkg from cisco, can some one tell me how i use this .pkg file if the system isnt booting correctly ?

Is it a case of burning the .pkg file onto a cd and the system will be able to boot from it ?

You can;t load version 6.x software on the 4210 sensors. They have been end of sale since June 2003.

The signature support for the 4210 just ended on October 24th 2009.

You should be able to doanload a version 5.x .iso image, burn a CD and update your sensor, but you won;t get signature updates (adduming you had a current license)
