Hello Experts,
I am in process of configuring a new cisco asa firewall which model number is 5510, just taken out from new box. To do the same, I'm using the cisco configuration guide wherein it states the firewall has default IP 192.168.1.1 configured and by connecting the machine LAN port with any one port among the four ports of firewall, it can be configure where we don't need to connect the firewall connected with console cable. I tried the LAN option and when I connect and configure the IP address 192.168.1.2 on machine LAN then neither it doesn't ping the firewall default IP nor it connects via ssh or https. Can somebody tell me if I'm missing something here, if not then why the default IP configured on firewall if there is no use and only console port is required to configure the firewall during initial config.
Thanks
