Hi,

See below output:

sh int eth0/1.20

Interface Ethernet0/1.20 "video", is up, line protocol is up

# Attention: This interface is located in a PCI-e x0 slot. For #

# optimal throughput, install the interface in a PCI-e x16 slot #

# if one is available. Refer to 'show controller slot'.        #

Hardware is i82546GB rev03, BW 1000 Mbps, DLY 10 usec

        VLAN identifier 20

        MAC address c89c.1d16.d92f, MTU 1500

IP address 10.44.20.253, subnet mask 255.255.255.0

  Traffic Statistics for "video":

        7910 packets input, 6066909 bytes

        6362 packets output, 2359002 bytes

        0 packets dropped

Hardware:   ASA5510, 1024 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 4 Celeron 1600 MHz

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.2(5)

This is from a Cisco ASA 5510 which is a fixed configuration firewall, i.e the network ports are in a fixed configuration and not modular. Any idea why this is displayed in the output from the "show interfaces", and can it be safely disregarded?

Regards,

Jacob

Hi Jacob,

This is a cosmetic bug:

CSCtn38474 - Interface warning on ASA - install the interface in a PCI-e x"nn" slot

The bug is fixed but isn't available in any release yet. It can be safely disregarded until a fixed release is ready.

Hope that helps.
