I'm trying to link LinkSys VPN to CISCO PIX 501 VPN via DSL. My CISCO PIX 501 is having Static IP on WAN side. But my LinkSys side is having Dynamic IP. I have tested and it works with Fix IP at LinkSys Side.

But what I want to find out is how to configure CISCO PIX 501 VPN to accept Dynamic IP on client side ?

PPPOE or "Dynamic IP" was introduced in version 6.2 and is currently ONLY supported on the Outside

interface.

Here's the excerpt from the Cisco doc stating this:

Introduction

This document describes how to configure the newly introduced PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) Client on the Cisco Secure PIX Firewall. This function was recently introduced with PIX OS version 6.2 and is targeted for the low-end PIX (501/506). Currently it is only supported on the outside interface of the PIX. Once configured on the outside interface, all traffic will be encapsulated with PPPoE/PPP headers. The default authentication mechanism for PPPoE is Password Authentication Protocol (PAP). The user has the option to configure Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) or MS-CHAP manually. Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) and Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) are not supported with PPPoE in PIX OS version 6.2.

Sorry but you'll have to redesign your network to accomodate that limitation. Any reason why you need dynamic IP on the LAN interface??? Good luck.
